I don't want bore you with a long drawn out explaination of my hiatus rite now so I'll just say during my time away I did a lot of growing . I had a lot of ups and sadly more downs but I'm hear happy and healthy and ready to get back to what I love (fashion,cooking, blogging,and all things fabulous).

So let's get down to it. I wanted to do an OOTD for my first post but I was very casual today so I decided against that ,but my shoes were adorable so I decided to do an SOTD instead .

Recently the fabulous people at LuShae gave me the opportunity to sample their beautiful collection of jewelry.After viewing the site I was impressed with their prices and instantly began to lust over their jewels. I had the hardest time picking just one item but after much internal debate chose the Pride Cocktail Ring .It arrived only two days after I placed my order. I was so happy because I had already prepared my self for at least a week's worth of waiting. When I saw the ring in person I was pleasantly surprised by its quality and design.The piece I chose like many others they offer is very unique.I know I won't see 12 other girls walking down the street wearing the same ring as me. It was exactly as pictured on LuShae ,if not better. I didn't have to go through the disappointment of receiving something that looked nothing like what I ordered or even worse I regretted buying. I'm already planning my next purchase which will be for my mom's Birthday. They have a little bit of something for everyone so I know I'll be able to find her fabulous piece of jewelry that she'll love.

My New Love

I am head over heels in love with this little cockapoo .He became a new member of my family about two months ago. We originally bought home two fluff balls , A 2lb girl who I named Sasha ( named after Beyonce) and a 4lb boy who my sister named Diddy.Unfortunately after two weeks, three visits to the vet, and One overnight stay in emergency care she passed away .The breeders who we adopted or puppy's from knowingly sold us a sick puppy . I took the loss a bit hard she was my first dog.I was angry that the people who we thought we could trust lied to us and hurt because I watched her suffer and despite of efforts could not help Sasha regain her health.

Diddy was supposed to be my sisters puppy but after about three week of living with her she was faced with the choice of being evicted or giving him up for adoption.Her neighbors began to complain about the barking of the puppy an although pets are allowed in her apartment complex the rules are very strict.After Sasha's passing I didn't want to even see another puppy but my mom didn't want to see him sent to a shelter so we took him in. I was not happy.I thought it was gonna be horrible and I thought I would be reminded of Sasha 24/7. To my surprise it was the total opposite, it was almost like this little creature could sense what I was feeling and set out to fix it . I was set on the idea of him staying away from me. The first day he stayed in my house I fell asleep on the couch watching a movie .I woke up in the middle of the night to find Diddy laying at my feet, not sleeping or playing but just laying. I found this weird because he is usually bouncing off the walls.Before living with us every time my sister would bring him over he would be getting into everything and would never stay still.I dismissed him and got up to go in my room ,he followed . I put him out and and assumed he would go in my parents room and lay down in his bed then I went back to sleep. The next day I woke up, opened my door to go to the bathroom and almost stepped on him because he was laying at my room door . I asked my dad how long he had been at my door and he told me he was there since he got up ( around 6:30am.)This behavior went on for about two more days before I finally bought his doggy bed in my room so he could sleep there.Even after bringing all his things into my room and making him his own space he would only sleep beside my bed on the floor .Gradually I started to warm up to him ,it was hard not to. His sweet gesture of just being there and staying with me warmed my heart .I noticed that the pain surrounding my loss started to lift as we began to bond . Fast forward to now and everything is back to normal, Diddy is his normal playful, silly self and I am feeling great too. He is one of the sweetest ,smartest. goofy,and loving puppy's you will ever meet and despite the circumstances surrounding the way he came to live with us I am happy that he did.

It's hard for me to even put my feeling into words on this subject.I am offended on so many levels by this. Who the fuck does this ugly horse faced plug and co-signing bitch think they are? Please tell me why her weight is any of your business. What gives them the right to tell some one they need to lose weight? or that they will never work. They both need to shut the fuck up.I think the fact that he is trying to act like he cares may be even more insulting then what he's saying.He doesn't care about her weight or her health he just want to bash her and get some one to listen to his lame ass show. Then the co-bitch is there all up his ass acting like what he saying is so wonderful.As a woman how could she just sit there and let him talk about her like. She is not skinny or cute and I know that shes felt the pressure to conform to Hollywood standards of beauty so the fact that she can just act like he's not saying anything wrong baffles me. She makes me sick. To compare her to the guy from the blind side is so offensive, we all look alike huh? She sat there and let that one fly too.Like honestly, the sound of her voice literally makes me gag. And could someone tell me what illness she has ,please tell me how shes sick? They keep saying shes sick FYI assholes, fat does not equal sick . If Gaby wants to lose weight that is her own business. She knows what she looks like and how much she weighs and she doesn't need any advice from a douche bag nobody like Howard stern.

I think this winter has been the worse some of us have ever seen, so I'm sure that I'm not the only one counting the days until spring. Lately I've been obsessed with all the beautiful floral prints and flowing dresses that a spring/summer wardrobe brings. I've been looking for the perfect pieces to add to my closet for spring/summer and I've found allot of those pieces at Anna Scholz’s. I am completely in love with Anna Scholz Black and White Labels. Both of these collections offer a bit of everything. The Black Label Collection is an extension of her premium White Label .The BLC has a focus on day wear and is full of fresh on trend prints and embellishments. Besides the clothes the best thing about the Black label for me is, it's at a price point that almost everyone can afford (how fab is that!) The White Label is a more premium luxury focused collection and features day and night wear. The WLC is full of beautiful dresses made with the best fabrics. The WLC has a classier chic feel, whereas the BLC has a trendier fresh look. I wanted to start out by saying thanks to all my Fabulous readers for not abandoning me over the last week . You guys rock and I love all the comments and e-mails I get from you all. So I'm sure you all know (via the news) that the east coast has been getting hit hard with blizzard after blizzard . However for Philly this is our third blizzard (over 20 inches of snow) this winter and the second and third were within one week. Philadelphia has had over 40 inches of snow in five days. The city has been shut down completely, meaning no school and for most no work . Usually I would use this extra time to catch up all things fashion and my school work but I've been doing everything except that . I've just been being lazy,reading books, watching movies,cooking, and even playing in the snow . Anyways NY fashion week is coming up so I should be getting back to usual level of blogieness soon.

So I had to take out the trash and decided to bring my camera so I took some pics while I was out there ,this is what it looks like in my neighborhood. It was super creepy outside because no one was out and it was so quite, but I have to admit it is kinda beautiful.

Do you notice anything different? Yup I got a new camera no more blackberry pics. Yaaaaaahhhhhh.....

I haven't posted any pics lately so I wanted to do a OOTD. Me and my friends went to $2 Tuesdays the other night so I finally had a good reason to get dressed up .I needed to get out of the house and have some fun and I was too happy cause this also gave me a chance to wear my black sequin blazer for the first time. Before I left the house I got my sister to take some pictures of me.I had a few pics that were taken at the club but I decided not to post them because drunk and hot is not a good look on me . After looking at the pics I was like, I wish I would have wore all black.When I was getting dressed my thought process was I wanna do black with a pop of color, but my color didn't have enough pop to it .It's all good though, I got compliments I had a lot of fun and I met a cute boy (honestly not so much cute but definitely fly)so the night was good .

2010 Golden Globes

The Golden Globes aired tonight and like many I wanted to see who would take home a globe but for me the real show was on the "Red Carpet".The Golden Globes is a eclectic mix of Hollywoods finest, actors from our favorite shows, and every thing in between.With this diverse mix of people there's the potential for all types of fashion hits and misses .As this was only the GG's and not the Oscars my expectations were not that high. None the less if you show up,you must show out.These are some people who I thought did just that and some I think should ummm,just try again.

First I wanted to talk about some of our fellow fatty's Monique,Amber,and Gaby .

Amber- (I could not find a decent picture of her from last night so I'll post a picture of her dress when I track one down.)

Gabourey Sidibe- I really like Gaby and I think she has a beautiful spirit.With that being said I have to say that every time I see pictures of her I'm disappointed. I think she is in serious need of a stylist (I'm available.) However compared to some of the things I've seen her wear in the past this is one of her better selections.Even though I feel that there are way better options out there she looks pretty good overall. I just wish I could see her in something that was actually age appropriate or on trend. I'm wont talk about hair and makeup, since it was raining everyone gets a pass on that .

Monique-Monique was beautiful as usual.She wore a strapless gold Reem Acra dress and minimal accessories .My only complaint is I feel like I've seen her in this dress before.I would love to see her try a bold or bright color.

I know yall probably noticed that I'v made changes to to the site lately, so I wanted to fill you guy in on whats happening .It's nothing major , I'm just not happy with the way Cupcake & High heels looks and I wanted to change it up a little . On Blogger your kinda limited when it comes to the design aspect of your blog and to be honest web design is not my strong point. So I'll be trying out different templates and color schemes until I either give up or find one that best represents me and my blog. If anyone has any design advice for me by all means comment or E-mail me, I could really use the help.Also if you all think it's fine the way it is let me know. Sometimes I can be a perfectionist. I tamper with things that are perfectly fine, mess it up, then drive myself crazy trying to get it perfect again .So if I'm tripping let me know so I can stop the madness.

Me and my boyfriend recently broke up. Near the end of the relationship we started to argue a lot and he would try his best to make me feel like shit for lack of a better word .So I've been in bad mood for a while. since I'm on winter break now and home with nothing to do I've been obsessing over every little ugly thing he said and feeling sad . My nasty mood was affecting me in the worst way.I had money and I wasn't even shopping.I missed out on all the after Christmas sales and my outfits were very uninspired . My daily uniforms been tee-shirts,jeans ,chucks, bomber jacket ,and my hair in a ponytail.So it's been like two weeks and he's already had more of my time then he deserves .I was so over be the broken heated girl soI went online to do some retail therapy. While online doing my best to lift my spirits I got distracted (as usual)by one of those AOL stories. The article was on flattering all body types.To make an already long story short this prompted me to do search on plus size models and celebrities etc... While looking at pictures of all these gorgeous plus size women I started to feel a little better. Then the next day (today) I actually did my hair and I didn't were sneakers.All of these women are beautiful, successful, sexy, confident and "Fat". Seeing these women reminded me how fab I am and to never let anyone make me feel like I'm not good enough or that being fat doesn't add to my beauty .I know Yall have probably seen these most of these pics before but I wanted to post them anyway cause I feel they are inspiring.These are a few of the the pics that acted as mood boosters for me.

OK so when it comes to accessories I love anything that's over the top glam or sparkly . My cell has a zebra pattern rhinestone case on it that's cute but I'm quickly getting tired of it. Recently while online looking for new cases I came across Deco den.I don't know much about it, but from what I found Deco den really popular in Japanese culture and is basically over the top decorations on all types of accessories like phones and any thing you can put gems on . As I searched the web for more deco den I found girls who had went all out and adorned there phone ,cameras , key chains, and even their nails in deco den. For a lot of people this would be way too much but as soon as I saw how flashy ,extravagant,and just all out loud this stuff was I fell in love with it . If any one knows anything else about Deco Den or knows were I can purchase a deco kit please comment or email me . I haven't had much luck finding a place that wasn't sold out of deco kits . Lastly I'm really curious to know what you ladies think of Deco den .Do you all think its trashy or do you think its fab?

A friend recently ask me, if I knew where she could buy a fur and to be honest I was at a loss for words.I told her no but I would look in to if for her. I got busy and forgot about her question until recently when I saw a gorgeous plus size girl walking downtown with a fabulous fur vest on. After I was finished running all my errands I came home and started my search for furs.I usually have luck when looking for certain items on line but this was honestly much more difficult. I think some of you may do better finding a cute fur at one of your local shopes, but for those of you, like me, who have a harder time finding one at the mall I hope this helps you some. I did my best to try to get things from all price points and real and faux fur pieces.

I am really excited to see this movie. I have watched the trailer about 10 times.The story is based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire" and it looks like it's going to be a really powerful and moving story. Precious has already won three awards for it's premier at the Sundance Film Festival and people are already talking about Oscar nominations.I have been seeing conflicting release dates for this movie but i think it will be out for limited release around November 6,2009 in the U.S. The cast includes Mo'nique ,Lenny Kravitz, Mariah Carey,Paula Ptton,and Gabourey 'Gabby' Sidibe who play Precious.

Side note :Don't forget that the star of the movie Gabourey Sidibe is a lovely plus size girl, an I am excited to see what she will be doing and wearing in the up comming months so make sure to check in for updates on her .

However what I am talking about is all black from head to toe.The release of "Run This Town" is not my reason for this although it doesn't hurt my my case.Sum of the most fab fashionistas have been seen lately running around in all black this Summer.Who can blame them ? Having gone through this problem many times myself I know how hard it can be to find the right pair. So I decided to show you sum options that work well on most plus size shapes. your options are not limited to these but they are a good start.

The skinny

Allot of people will say that bigger girls should stay away from skinny jeans, but DON'T listen to them. Skinny Jeans are so in right now and more than likely they will be for a while . There is no reason any plus size girl should not have a few pairs of great fitting pairs of skinny jeans in their wardrobe. When looking for the perfect pair of skinny's keep fit in mind . Yes your skinny jeans should be skinny, but they should not be so tight that you can't breathe . Alos remember that if you find a fab pair that you like but don't fit quite as skinny as you would like don't discard them you can always have them tailored for around $5-$9.

Naomi was the first black super model.In 1968 She was the first black model to appear on mainstream magazine, Ladies Home Journal . Sims also appeared on the covers of Essence,Life, and Cosmo. Ms.Sims was a trail blazer and paved the way for the young black super models of today.My deepest sympathies go out to her family.

My top WTF moments of the night

:Kim dizzy ass going to the Empire Beauty School, to do what, I don't know . I want to know what Empire Beauty School had to do with starting a wig business if anyone knows please tell me. I wanted to give Kim another chance this season but she’s not off to a good start.~Side note~ When is she gonna get rid of that horrible thing she has on her head .I mean if youre gonna wear a wig at least get one that doesn't look like barbie hair please give it up hun. ~Side note to the 1st side note ~ I would pay to see up under that wig .

: Sheree and Nene patching things up .I guess this was a good thing but I’m not buying it on Sherees' end. She seemed more fake than she usually is when they were talking but you never know it could have been real (at least as real as it can be for a reality T.V show).We of course won't know until this season over but I’ll be very surprised if all the new found friendliness last.

: Top wtf moment of the night ,Sheree VS the Party Planner. Ok I am not a Sheree fan at all but his ass was way out of line .I wanted Sheree to lay him out something vicious. I have to believe that was all scripted. I don’t think any business professionals would treat a client that way on national TV at that. Doesn’t he know that the customer is always right? I would love to say that I've know about Beth for years and that I was one of her first fans but that isn't true. I only been aware of her existence for a little over a year . The first time I ever saw her was on a tabloid and the picture was of her sweating feverishly at a concert . Even through all the chaos of the photo I noticed the outfit she had on . As soon as I got in the house I googled her and was hooked from then on.

For the last few months Beth Ditto's Name has been echoing throughout the blogosphere Due to the highly anticipated release of her new line for UK based plus size clothing store Evans .Well that date has come and gone and from I hear Beth Ditto at Evans is doing well .Personally I loved Many of the pieces but was a little disappointed the line was so small .Despite that I'm excited to see whats next for her line .

"Women with curves who know how to strut their stuff could be walking the runway for The Carpenter's Daughter at this year's Air New Zealand Fashion Week.

The label is looking for women sizes 12 to 24 to model in its runway show in September, which will be the first show at ANZFW to feature models size 12 and above, according to Shelley Geenty, the sales and marketing manager for The Carpenter's Daughter.

Geenty says they received rave reviews for their showing at the public Fashion Weekend event last year, which follows Fashion Week, and they are thrilled to be part of the official schedule this year. She says they hope to cast approximately 25 models nationwide for the runway show."

I've been seeing these leggings floating around for a while online. At first I couldn't stand them, but they slowly grew on me.

To me these leggings are a more comfy version of a destroyed skinny jean. They can be worn with virtually anything and are great for layering.Recently I bought a plus size version which I found at Torrid . I haven't worn them yet but I'm sure that when I do I'll look FAB. I'll make sure I post pics of the outfit also .

Hi, I’m Candice from Philly. I am new to the blogging and wanted to make one for quite a while. I decided there was no time like the present and to just do it . Although I am head over heels in love with fashion I haven't always been the most fashionable girl. Even now I'm still constantly refining my personal style. Within the last few years the fashion world has started to recognize that there are girls out there who are over a size 0,6,or 8 that love fashion too. Plus size options have grown tremendously an although we don't have as many choices as we should ,the options are much better than they were. Just like many young women my age my sense of style is always evolving and changing. I am always finding new places to shop ,different ways to look good in clothes,and learning to break bad habits like settling for not so cute clothes just because they fit.

Sum people look at fashion as unimportant, pointless,or shallow. I know from experience this is NOT true .Being a plus size isn't easy. There are so many things done and said daily that can chip away at your self esteem . Fashion is liberating. The right dress can give you an extra boost of confidence or the right pair of heels can can change your mood entirely, taking you from sad to sexy.There are still plus size girls who feel limited when it comes to fashion .Sum are discouraged by the small selections of plus size lines in local malls, or because they thing there's nothing that they will look good in . This is the reason I started my blog ,to share what I learn with you and so you can share with me.

I've introduced myself now I want to introduce Cupcakes & High heels (which I named after two of my favorite things) to you all and let everyone know what it's all about.
